Qigong Practices

Questions

How does a session proceed?
You arrive at your session in loose comfortable clothing. Most sessions last about an hour. We will discuss your interest in the practice and the reason why you wish to develop a practice. Most of the work with be in movement and after the first session I will provide you with a list of some of the practices I would like you to do at home. After the initial sessions, you will develop your own notebook and I encourage notes in the class.
What are your qualifications?
I am a Certified Medical Qigong Therapist and I have studied Qigong, tai ji and tai ji sword forms for many years under a Chinese Medical doctor and qigong/tai ji master. I am continuing my training and continually honing my expertise. I have had a meditation practice for over 20 years.
How can these sessions help me?
These session are ideal for anyone who is interested in becoming a more balanced and harmonious human being. Through the development of a practice you will become more healthy and your immune system will work more proficiently. You may become more relaxed physically, mentally and emotionally. The exercises work with the 5 elements and their associated organs and meridian systems.
How often do I need to have a session?
I leave this up to each individual. If you diligently practice the prescribed exercises at home, it may be helpful to meet every two or three weeks or even once a month. At the follow up sessions, I may give corrections to the exercises or challenge you with new exercises if they are appropriate for you.
Practicalities: What is the price per session, how do I pay and where are you located?
Sessions are based on the rates of most body work or energy work. Please email me for more information.
I accept cash, check, or electronic payments.

My studio is in Greenpoint, Brooklyn (near McGolrick Park) or sessions can be arranged in Manhattan or at Inwood Movement.
