Qigong Healing Sessions

Questions

How does a session proceed?
You arrive at your session in loose comfortable clothing. Most sessions last an hour. We discuss any particular issues you would like to work on or physical issues that you need help with. Depending on your condition or needs we may work standing up, sitting in a chair, lying down or a combination, some of the work may even be applied while the individual is in movement. Some work with acupuncture points and meridians may be applied, no needles will be used in these treatments. We might do some qi gong exercises during these sessions that is applicable to your condition using an understanding of Chinese Medical principles.
What are your qualifications?
I am not a medical professional or chinese medical doctor. But I am a Certified Medical Qigong Therapist and I have studied for many years under a Chinese Medical doctor and qigong master. I continue my training and I am continually honing my healing expertise. I am also a practitioner of qi gong and tai ji. If you have a serious medical condition, I will take these issues into account in the sessions, but suggest that you see a traditional medical doctor. The qigong healing work should be considered as complimentary therapy.
I do not have any particular physical issues, how can these sessions help me?
These sessions can be strengthening for the immune system. They help to make the body stronger and can be used as a preventative medicine during the cold and flu season. They are good for older people who cannot do strenuous exercise or who would like to build their strength, balance, flexibility and have more energy. The healing walk is used in oncology wards all over China and is also used as a preventative for major illness. If you feel strong and healthy, but wish to study qigong, I might suggest an individual qigong or taiji session in which we help to build your own practice.
How often do I need to have a session?
I leave this up to each individual. If you diligently practice the prescribed exercises at home, sessions may only be necessary every two or three weeks or even once a month. If you have a particular issue you need to resolve and more sessions might help this, we could do several sessions in a month. But most clients have sessions twice a month and the results are often astounding.
Practicalities: What is the price per session, how do I pay and where are you located?
Sessions are based on the rates of most body work or energy work. Please email me for more information.
I accept cash, check, or electronic payments.

My studio is in Greenpoint, Brooklyn (near McGolrick Park) or sessions can be arranged in Manhattan or at Inwood Movement.
